Specifying the remote FTP queue for the server
To define the remote FTP queue, you must have already created the CNX file containing all the information about the server. To do so, please review Rpv queue connection utility.

Those CNX files will contain (encrypted) the information (host, username, password and remote queue directory) for Rpv to be able to read on it and to download the reports as soon as they are placed on that directory.

The remote server can be a Windows or a non-Windows server such as Qnx, Linux, Sco-Unix, etc. All you must have to perform this task is to have all the information about the server.

There are three ways to do it.

  • When the Print Server starts

It will be needed to specify the connection file (CNX) when starting the program PrtSvr.exe using the "-f" option.
    Example:

    PrtSvr -fc:\server.cnx

This command connects the Print Server to the host declared on c:\server.cnx file. This file has been previously created with the program RpvConnect.exe and contains the needed information to connect to the server.
The command must be without separations, just like you can see on the example.

  • From the Rpv Configuration Panel.

It is possible to access this panel from the viewer, from Rpv Reports menu, or even by executing RpvConfig.exe file.
This utility will set the default values for the Print Server to open.
